So I bought a new pistol earlier this year at a gunshow (the vendor will remain nameless for now). It was supposed to be a 9mm, and it is. But after getting it home I notice that the slide says 9x21 even though the paperwork with it talks about 9mm Luger/Parabellum/9×19. I called Beretta (which somehow linked me to Brownells? They handle Berettas parts...) and they were like "no way.probably just the slide snuck thru, have a gunsmith check the chamber." I did and they confirmed 9x21. So then I called the vendor and told them the story. They were like "no way" I said "way" and then he asked for the serial number. When he punched the number in he said "wow, you've got a collector's piece there as this says Not for Import to the US". Even though the box says made in USA. The vendor told me to bring it back and they would help me swap it out. My question is should I take it back and get the gun chambered for the round I intended or might it be worth a premium to somebody? Saw nothing like it on guntrader, advice?

If it were mine, I'd keep it and buy another in 9x19. I love "different" and that is very different. I wonder if you can get ammo in the US?

Didn't the 9x21 originate in Italy, after WWII? I'd keep it.

Wonder why the dealer wants it back so readily? I guarantee you it's not "customer service." I'd keep it.

So would that make the pistol a 98FS?

Made for Euro market when "military" calibers were prohibited for civilians.
I had one in .30 Luger. Model 98. Bring-back by service member probably.
Collectors item really.

Lets see if these pics work. First time trying. I've decided to sell it but wondering how much I should ask for it? I can't find reference to this gun anywhere, not on Gun Broker. Does anybody have a subscription to Blue Book values? Grabagun sells it for $728 when in stock. I was thinking of posting for $1k and see if there's any takers. I don't want to undervalue it as I can't find a precedent for it but I've got a new baby girl so trying to get as much as I can. Not in a hurry to sell...

It has happened before with a couple other Beretta 92 models in 9x21 instances found on the internet with these pistols. Collector value of the guns sold on gunbroker was 3 to 4 times the normal value of the pistol. I would start at $2200-$2500 and go from there.
