I have a Bog Pod, tripod, old model. It is good but I'm looking at something a little sturdier. The Heavy Bog Pod or Trigger Stick.

I need to stay in this budget, so nor Hog Back, even though they are great

What's the best under $200

I really like my trigger sticks. I guess they are pretty sturdy for what they are, but they are still somewhat flimsy compared to the heavy duty tripods.

When I break or wear out the trigger sticks, I will buy another set. I am pleased at what they do given their weight and such. The trigger mechanism is great. You don't want to leave them out in the rain however. I have seen too many reports of them getting ruined and the legs not extending once they get corroded.

I found a manfroto on Craigslist for 15.00. Use it for precision shooting to 1000 yds. My 4 yr old trigger stick squeaks and squeals now.

The heavy Bog Pod is great, if you want stability. I use the Mini-U attachment. That said, I own half a dozen monopods, bipods and tripods. None of them are best for everything, and each of them is best for something.

I got this Caldwell tripod last week to use in my popup blind. It's real sturdy and lightweight, and has a ton of adjustment.

Those Caldwells are nice, I use one as a back up.. They get a little stiff on adjustments over time but handy once you find the Fulcram...

Gosh, I feel like a real cheapskate! A buddy gave me an inexpensive monopod, and after a year it broke. I took the top piece and screwed it onto an old mop handle I had lying around . . . 2cents wink

I too use the Caldwell tripod in popup with cross bow. Got one for each of my pop up sets. Great for kids!

I bought and later returned the Caldwell tripod. It was okay, but at some point I'll buy the Magnum. The regular just didn't have enough height for me. The Magnum would get my vote for under $200.
