No Sir, production platform (oil & gas). The wells are drilled before we get on location. This platform is kinda on the small side but still expected to run at a max capacity of 80,000 barrels a day of oil and 120 million standard cubic feet per day of gas.

Around 95,000 - 100,000bopd at full cap, typically.

roflmao That'd be one big brush pile. I did a project once on a jack up rig and soon after Katrina sent it to the bottom.

It's a shame it had to be made in Korea. But at least it is being finished out here.

Yessr, I agree. All of these hulls are made overseas and topsides are fabricated here. I wish they'd do it all here.

Cool pics! I have a good friend that worked on a drilling ship. I always thought that was the coolest job around. I love the ocean, the Gulf, ponds, lakes, creeks, lol. Anything around water!

Yessr, it's definitely different being surrounded by nothing but water for weeks or months at a time. Have seen lots of beautiful sunrises and sunsets out there, and lots of cool fish and birds. up

That is awesome. I'd love to go weld on a project like that. Heck I'll do grinding and layout on something like that. Very cool!

Great pics! Most people have no idea of the volumes of oil and gas being
produced in Texas. Glad it's picking up for us all!

Wanted to add a couple closer-up pics of the Chevron Big Foot Platform, it's sitting behind my project in the pics I posted above. She's a toad grin , I wanted on that project bad and tried several times but Houston wouldn't release me from the job I was on at the time. The Big foot was supposed to be offshore long ago, but they ran into some serious issues with the current at that location so the whole thing is delayed and the platform has been in preservation mode with only a skeleton crew.

Hope you enjoy.
