Cheap, too! - You can throw a can in the tool box, in case the rifle (or something else) needs a bit of touch-up at one point or another.

This stuff is more pricey than traditional paste waxes but very popular with serious gun owners. It works extremely well at protecting both wood and metal.

Renaissance Wax

Excellent product, not certain if it will adhere to metal being carried in a rifle rack.

On the Ren wax, do you have to "degrease" the metal before you use it?

RF85 treatment that Anderson Arms uses?

Not sure if you can find who does the treatment for them and send them your gun

I use Renaissance Wax... Before I apply it, I wipe the firearm with a dry cloth. That works well for me.

Kind regards, charlesb

While I wouldn't apply it to an oily gun, it does cut through old wax and oil to reach the wood or metal. In fact, I would call it a more clean wax because it doesn't leave the gun feeling slick like other waxes often do. And yet, the shine is excellent.

It was developed as a synthetic wax by the British to protect centuries-old museum pieces.
