Here's what I have so far
Tikka T3 Hunter action (lefty)
Manners T6a stock bedded by Crescent Customs
CDI bottom metal
EGW 20 MOA base
Burris XTR ii 4-20x50
Now just deciding on which caliber and what barrel maker and picking up a different bolt handle and a couple other odds and ends . Anyone tried X-caliber barrels ? I can't decide and it depends on who has what I'm looking for in stock. I've looked at Hawk Hill, Brux , Rock Creek and Bartlien. I've narrowed it down to 260, 243 or 6.5x47L.

A Bartlein chambered in 6.5x47 would be my choice. Sweet rig regardless of the caliber. cheers

You've got some great parts already assembled. Decide on contour, and build the 6.5 X 47

Thanks men. I'm leaning towards a Remington varmint contour or something similar because that's what my stock is channeled for.

A good contour. Opening up a barrel channel with Emory cloth is cheap, precise, and only requires some time.

In case you find a barrel slightly larger.

6.5x47 in a heavy Palma would be my choice.

I chose the Remington varmint profile Bartlein for my 6.5 Creedmoor build. I love the contour. It makes a balanced rifle and not too heavy.

I found a Bartlien , Brux and Benchmark all in 8.5 twist 5r rifling . Should I get an 8 twist with 4 groove or would the 5r be better. Also will I have to do anything to the bolt face since the 6.5x47 uses small rifle primers?

This link, along with advice from JG and Paul Reid, helped me with my build.
