Well life got in the way the past two weeks and I wasn't able to make my weekly feeding and checking cards. My compressor on my AC blew at the house and unfortunately it was an R22 unit so I had to completely switch both inside and outside to a 410 unit, so needless to say I wasn't in the mood to do much after that bill. But I got out yesterday and the deer had wiped everything out. I had the usual cast of characters although Double Drop isn't showing as frequently but I think that has to do because of the feed being gone. I did have the deer that I posted about in my last post start frequenting the location. He is a slick 8 and think he is a 5 year old. Just quickly looking at him I think he will go 120-125. His tines are deceiving as they have some major curvature in them. I'd love to hear ya'lls opinion on him.

Then on another set that I have had for a few years and always has quite a few deer on it and is on a historic rub/scrape line I had this guy show up the past 3 days. The dates are wrong on my camera. I think he is every bit of 6 years old and another slick 8 but tines have a different shape. Hard to judge him as I had no head on or facing away pics. In one of the pics it looks like he has some pretty solid brows.

Checked cameras yesterday and corned. My spot where I have been consistently seeing the majority of the bigger deer went from 5-600 pics a week to just 200 this week. I had a few pics of the big bodied 8 and Double Drop was on camera yesterday morning and from the looks of the pics was dogging a doe. I found rubs and scrapes within 20 yards of every set yesterday that were not there last week so it's safe to say that the rut is beginning down here. This 8 was the deer I had just gotten pics of last week on another set that is about 500 yards from where I shot my 148" 8 point 4-5 years ago. He is now pretty consistently showing up right at dark. He is an overall pretty solid deer, just seems to be lacking in mass a bit.
