I've been using the Rio's past few years, saw the 1300FPS on these monarchs and was thinking that's a pretty fast shell, most dove loads are about 1200.
The Rio's seem to shoot cleaner than other shells, was wondering about these though.

used them last year. worked same as all the others. I like the Rios but have trouble with the hull getting stuck when ejecting sometimes for some reason.

I did the same as you wwm. The Monarchs work great. Just a little more on the smokey side, if that makes since. I notice when I clean my shotgun its dirtier than with the Rios. 2cents

Any 7.5 1 oz are fine- I don't like real hot shells

Those Monarch's are the bomb. I've shot a lot of them at sporting clays. I do believe they are my favorite now.

Monarch is a house brand. They are not made by Academy. House brands for any company could be from any manufacturer and often change with new contracts. Unless something has changed the parent manufacturer of Academy Monarch shotshells is a Spanish company Maxam Outdoors. Maxam Outdoors owns Rio, Eley, and about a half dozen others. Without having looking at any actual shells in hand, my best common sense guess is that Monarch is currently made by Rio considering Maxam has a Rio plant in Marshal Texas and Academy is mostly a southern US company.

I use 900 fps metrofield from federal 7 1/2 at $6 a box
Plenty.
You dont need much for dove, just swing your gun.
Imo a 28 gauge is the perfect gun for dove, and most fun too.

I always buy the cheapest they have. The only time I'd buy high brass shells is if I were chasing blue quail without a dog.

Good info sniper, will pick up a box or 2 and see how they are. Really started liking the Rio's cuz as I said above, they seem to be a lot cleaner, as far as leaving residue in the barrel.

Depends on the shotgun I use. If i'm on my old Mossberg 500 I use remington heavy dove 7 1/2. Other shells gum it up and after a 5 boxes it's take down time. Using my benelli supersport it doesn't matter. That thing shoots them all /all week long then wipe it down and go again.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Monarch is just a re-branded rio.

I like their shells.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
