Looking for one hunter to make a total of 8 hunters on 1200 acres. This is two pastures out of a several thousand acre ranch under MLD 3. I’m not the property manager – I’m just a fellow hunter responsible for putting the group together.

Hunting agreement runs Feb 15, 2016 to Jan 15, 2017 and includes deer, turkey, hogs and dove. We lost someone late and are replacing them; so you will have missed out on this year’s spring turkey season. Full access during spring turkey and fall hunting seasons; otherwise limited access to maintain feeders and equipment but you can shoot hogs when out there for that purpose.

I will take first guy I feel is a good fit, can be trusted, is experienced enough to handle this kind of lease (aging, harvest expectations), and has check in hand when I show the place. I’m ready to show immediately.

Below is a quick rundown on the more important rules/conditions. PM me your email address for complete rules and with questions.

Last year trophy bucks were considered 5.5+. That is up to the MLD program and I don’t expect that to change. Maximum one trophy, one cull and one doe per hunter but we don’t come close to tagging a total of 24 deer per season.
Cost is $2,125 per hunter and includes access to camphouse with utilities. Camphouse is pretty rough but does have power and water.
Guests include spouse and your kids 18 and under and they may hunt from your allotment.
No varmint calling/trapping. Hog and coon trapping is OK.
No pets, no exceptions.
Hunting with rifle and bow starts with normal bow season but does and cull bucks only until November (even if bow hunting).
Each hunter must provide a free choice protein feeder March through August (we’ve been running that a lot longer). Each hunter must feed corn year round.
During deer season no hunting in other people’s blinds or areas around their blinds without permission.

Thanks Steve. It's shaping up to be a decent year. I figure y'all are seeing the same on your side of the fence. I should have checked with you before posting- if you know anyone looking...

Yes it is- out behind and north of the Elkstop. It will be my 5th season- there's been steady improvement.

That's actually one of the very few recent hog photos I have. Included it to let guys that like to hog hunt know they are there.

Amazing what size opening those little guys can squeeze through. Luckily their mamas don't bring them by often or hang around long since they can't get in.

Spot is still open- we haven't found the right fit. This will be our 5th year of solid management and we are seeing the results. We're looking for a management minded hunter that can respect the rules and the last 4 years of work we've put in and be part of continuing that success. Attached are some pictures from the last two weeks.

The last spot is always the hardest to fill. Bill is a good guy to hunt with. I hunted this ranch for 20 years. If managed right, I have seen other ranch pastures produce 150" and even a 174" about 10 years ago. The deer have good genetics in the area. Looks to have lots of potential. Good Luck! Adam

Thanks Adam. If you ever decide to come back this direction to hunt then you have a spot if we have an opening.

No PM received.

Spot is filled pending getting check in hand. I'll post again if that falls through.
