Got a picture from my cell phone camera with a few pigs at the feeder. Swung by and picked a buddy up and headed there. Nice surprise to turn the corner at the feeder and they were still there. The IR light didn't seem to bother them at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvCwzC37fdE

It's hit and miss as to whether they react to an IR light. All sorts of stuff comes into play. The longer you use it, you will experience them leaving when they see it. If they haven't seen one before, they don't know to fear it. Thanks for sharing the vid!

DNS - Thanks for linking that up for me.
2 pigs - one was 40 inches girth (approx 200 lbs). The one I shot was smaller 175ish. Only took a pic of the bigger one. My work now blocks my imaging site so I can't post it.
This is the first time out there with the Photon. Last couple of trips was with thermals that one my buddies has.

Are you using the factory IR or an external unit.

Are you using the factory IR or an external unit. It's an external IR the UNV 20-ir. Internal will reach that far but the picture isn't as good.

Good video. I'm thinking of the same setup for my .300 BO. Are you satisfied with it so far?
Next time maybe some after pics...

As far as night vision yes I am very satisfied. Thermal is ultimately the way togo if you have the funding.
I have had no function problems with it like the x-sight folks. And I'm definitely glad I bought the photon over it.

Nice going! On a few occasions I've had hogs that seemed to notice the infrared light, but usually what happens is they stop, look toward the light for 2-3 seconds, and then go back about their business. At that point I shoot them, which means they lose the opportunity to learn from the experience.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.
