For you reloading gurus, what would you think would be a max load for the 7x57AI? I was shooting 55 grains of RL-19 with 150 Nosler Partitions but was told by a individual, that I think has far more reloading knowledge than I, that the load was too hot. I did not see any dangerous signs. The primers were flat but so were the factory 7x57's shoot for fire forming. Give me your opinion, please. Thanks

7x57 is a strange round. It has pressure peak depending on action quality. Overpressure for an original x57 action isn't on a newer design.... I would think you could somewhat base the percentage increase needed of 257 AI data.

Dee, the gun has a Rem 700 action with a Proof Research carbon fiber barrel.

I ran the data in Quickload and just using the info given and standard seating depth you are at 62,200 PSI so pretty dang hot load for sure.
Now by just moving the OAL to 3.150 I dropped it to 59,122 PSI

I would say if your primer pockets are holding tight for 5-6 reloads you are OK but if they are loose after 3-4 I would back off.

Thanks, DStroud. I will back off to 54 grs of the RL-19, and move the OAL out also. Daniel
