No trout to speak of here where I'm at by the way (San Jose). Wife caught one rainbow up in the mountains yesterday.

Local just said a chub. Looks like a golden shiner also.

Looks somewhat like a Redhorse minnow. But not sure if they have them in NM.

Chub. They will eat your nymph at the end of a drift every time.

got a sweet spot to fish for catfish on a river in Nebraska.. always start the day off by catching a few dozen of them.. they are some chunky bait! have fun catching them also

The cats here in WV love them chubs too. Im not sure if its the same species of chub, but we call em creek chubs. They get pretty hefty.
