I am neck sizing one caliber and am having a problem, I think. After neck sizing the neck will show scratches on the neck that can be felt with a finger nail. Scratches are approx 1/4 of the neck circumference. First set of dies were sent back to manufacture & I was sent a new set with the same results. I have done every thing I can think of but have not found a solution. Any suggestions???? Thanks

Odds are that its very unlikely it's the dies since two different sets are the same.
Are you positive the scratch is not present before sizing?
Is the brass polished prior to Neck sizing?
Lube applied to neck.
I have seen strong ejector springs cause bad scratches

Whose dies are you using? Pics of the necks? Chambering? (not that it matters, but might). What is your resizing process, start to finish. Do you clean them up at all? Deburr/chamfer? Lube inside/out? etc. Need more info.

Any chance manufacturer sent you the same set back on accident?

Redding 3 die deluxe,7x57 AI, don't vibrate every reload but clean necks with rag every other, Use Redding graphite neck sizing media & lube gets inside.
jdk, it is possible the 2nd set was made at the same time as the 1st set & does have the same problem as the 1st. Redding said 1st had some chattering inside.
I may know if I have solved problem, will install a new RCBS RC tomorrow & give it a try. Should be able to tell something.

Sizing die is galled up,I use Imperial sizing die wax now and have not had an issue. You can rub the wax on your finger tips and apply it to the brass neck before sizing, does not take much and a can will last a long time.I am not a big fan of Lee Precision but their collet dies really work well for me and these dies do not work harden the brass.
