I have been doing out of state deer trips for several years now and always have a blast. I have decided that I want to take a trip chasing Elk with my bow. Looking into the 2017 season and for my first trip I am wanting to use an outfitter. Interested in any area I can get an OTC tag.
Do you guys have any recommendations on where to start? What are the best OTC tag areas? Do you know of any outfitter you would recommend? I am not looking to go after a 400" bull just a good experience with fair chances at a bull with my bow. Any help would be greatly appreciated I would really like to get the ball rolling asap.

I went with Hills guide service in CO, great hunt and area. Diy, they provide lodging and can pay extra for guide but only would need one for a day or two to get the lay of the land. Bear is also available Otc. I say plenty of both and hunted archery mid September.

Have had some good hunts with Gods Country Outfitters in Montana, Tags are not over the counter though.

I recommend putting in for the draw for select hunting opportunitys and if those fail you can always fall back on a OTC hunt. Gila and Apache outfitters out of NM would be my choice for a drawn hunt, Unit 85 in CO is OTC but you'll need to find an outfitter with private land because not alot of public their.

You can get land owner voucher tags near Chama NM pretty easily that are included with the price of the hunt.
