Guys,

I have some 9mm brass that has discoloration on it. I have inspected it and it seems sound except that it's discolored. Would you use it or toss it?

Is there anything that I might be missing in so far as the soundness of the brass?

Throw it in the tumbler then load away.

I use a solution of 1 tbs of Lemi Shine and 3 or 4 drops of dish soap in a pint of warm water. I let it soak for about an hour then take it out and let it air dry. After it dries, I tumble it for about another hour. Looks like new.

A stainless media tumbler will make it good as new, inside and out.

Yep ...I stainless pin tumble about 500 9mm at a time. I use the Dawn and Lemmi. Come out like.new

as said here ^ ^ ^ tarnish and discoloration
is not an issue for concern. pitting and corrosion
is where you need to be wary of using the brass.

Years ago I used to scrounge brass out in the desert around El Paso. I think some of it may have been on the ground ten years or more. Much of it was for rounds o did d not reload at the time, but some of it I used. It seems I latched onto a lot of very brittle brass, but I could not say for sure the bad brass was the really old and tarnished stuff I picked up, but I always suspected that it was. So, I think that using brass that may have been on the ground for a long time might not be a very good idea.
