I was wondering if anyone out there knows where to get a good .300 blackout barrel and I was told it is interchange with any 5.56. Are there jamming issues that can happen with subsonic .300 blackout in smith and Wesson m&p-15 sport?

Mags and bcg will work for both. Will need a .300 blackout barrel.
Just clarifying.
Good or cheap? Can't have both. Lol

Any you will probably need and adjustable gas block as well. Mas not have enough gas with subs to cycle the bolt.
I never really got onboard with the 300 blackout. So I'm sure you will get some better answers to your questions.

I was lucky enough to get a 16" 300blk barrel for $65 when AR Barrel Kings was still in business. It shoots tighter groups than my FN 300blk barrel. Good cheap barrels are out there. I'd do a Google search and read some reviews before I bought one.

May just have to play with buffer weights also and not have to worry about gas issues. Yep. It might cycle just fine as-is. An adjustable gas block is cheap insurance too.

You can get an AR Stoner barrel for $90. I built an upper with one and it held MOA just fine.

You honestly won't know until you send some rounds down your pipe. If you reload you can make provisions. Along with other hardware stated above (buffer tube, lighter spring, etc...)

Pretty much any decent .300 BLK barrel will cycle subs just fine provided you don't have too heavy of a spring and/or buffer. The fact that your rifle is an M&P sport has zero impact on whether or not subs will cycle -- that comes down to the barrels gas port size and location, and buffer/spring weight.

An adjustable gas block or pistol length gas system should reliably cycle subs or supers in the blackout. It's a pretty efficient little cartridge, and I believe with the right powders can achieve almost total burn in 8-9" of barrel. As far as swapping the barrel in your M&P, it can be done. But by the time you purchase the barrel and gas system you could be halfway to a new upper. Complete 300 blk uppers can be had for around $300 without the BCG if you know where to look. They're completely interchangeable on your platform. Just move your BCG from one to the other. Not sure what your budget is, but something else to think about if you want to keep both calibers.

I also think this is the way to go. You basically get two cartridges in a modular package that can be changed quickly. If you do this; I HIGHLY recommend you mark your magazines or even use different color magazines for each cartridge. Another advantage is that you can go top-tier with your lower components and not have to buy them twice. Stocks, grips, and especially nice trigger groups add to the cost of a rifle build. I know my best fire control group cost more than the complete lower it went into. Another thing that may save some money in the end is a quality optic with a repeatable quick-disconnect mount. Of course you would need a DOPE chart.

I have an AR Stoner for my 10.5 SBR. Nice barrel for the price point. Other is 16" from model 1. It may be an ER Shaw. There are so many out there I would just google it and shop around. Like anything nowadays study, get informed, and be happy with deal that suits your needs. With that said most of the time you get what you pay for. Good luck
