I need a spotting scope, but I have seen pictures of people who have a camera connected to one or even an iphone. Do I need a special spotting scope for this or a special camera? I have a nice Nikon d3300 or something like that? Thought I would check here if anyone knows before I purchase a spotting scope.

I know you can get an iScope for your iphone, but not sure how people are using cameras through one. I'm pretty sure Academy sells the iscope. They are proud of them, but sure makes it easier than trying to hold a phone up.

I use my smart phone with my Vortex Razor HD all the time using a Phone Skope adapter. It seems to work good enough for my needs.

Heard good things about PhoneSkope. Probably gonna pick one up for my elk hunt this fall. Fairly reasonable to if I remember right?

With that said better the spotting scope the better the pic.
