I made a quick trip to Kent County Monday. Got out at the right time late evening and saw tons of birds. I saw lots of pairs to coveys of 3/4 to full grown birds to coveys of bumble bees. If we could get another rain would be great, but there are tons of birds! The week before I was just south of San Angelo and saw tons of birds and coveys of all sizes there as well.

Can anyone tell me when was the last measurable rain in Kent County? I was tracking it during the heavy rains we were getting in the D/FW area and they were not getting much in Rotan or Jayton. It has been relatively dry up there this year compared to the other areas of the state.

These are not the days of rain, but when gauge was checked. This is half way between Rotan and Jayton.
6/9/16 2.0-2.2 inches
6/24/16 1.4-1.6 inches
7/14/16 2.2 inches
7/18/16 .2 inches

Really pretty good shape going into Aug considering Jul is one of our driest months. A good rain between now and end of Jul would be great. I'm betting the cover will be rowdy again this year.
