Hey everyone! I keep buying trail cams around $100 and I do all my research to find the best one and it still craps out after a year(or sooner). I'm upping my budget to $200 now. Please please please give me a good recommendation for a great camera!

The last two I bought were a Moultrie M880i in December 2015

and a Browning Strike Force HD 10MP, in March 2016

Both have been out since the date of purchase and are giving me good day and night pictures with really good battery life. (1,000+). I think the Moultrie may have a slight edge on picture quality. But it's really close between the two.

I'll be interested too. I know I've been lucky the last 4 years running cheap WG cameras.

I guess I've been lucky. One of the cameras I'm running is a 1996 Moultrie D6. It stays out year round and, except for needing to replace the LCD screen, keeps on kicking. It's a bit hard on batteries but takes really great day and night pictures.

I mount all of my cameras in boxes that protect them from direct sun and rain, which I'm convinced contributes to a longer life.

Great source of tech reviews here, I vote for the Browning Strike force, especially for "bang-for-buck"

In my opinion the only place to buy a trail camera is, http://www.trailcampro.com/. I have bought 6 from them over the years and they truly stand behind them. One stopped taking more than two photos at a time after 2 months and I called them. They sent me a higher priced model and a prepaid box to send the old one back in. I have to agree with BayuBoy that the two models I would choose are the Browning Strike Force HD or Moultrie M880i. I lean towards the Strike Force HD. I have 4 of them and have been very happy with the photos both night and day. the price from Trailcampro right now is $205. Here is a photo from the Browning of a buck jumping over a fence.

I've tried many different brands and it's hot or miss. My longest running camera is an older Moultrie. It's been running for 5 years.

I've had all the different brands and it's hit or miss most the time. Last year I had 6 cameras of the same model....half worked great while the other half were junk! Go figure lol. The exodus cameras seem to be alright - think I'm loading up on a few more this year
