 Question about ASF digital timer

So I just replaced my feeder motor/timer with the ASF 12V feeder and digital timer. I set time for 4:30 and I didn't hear it go off. My old motor was an academy special but I heard that thing from 300 yards away. Is the ASF quieter or is it not working? I have deer in the pen at the moment so I'm inclined to believe it went off. I'll know for certain once they leave, just curious. I couldn't find instructions for the timer but it seemed easy enough and I thought I figured it out even tested it.
