They are over the pond in my back yard. I've seen them eating pecans on the road before but never like this. This picture was taken with an Ipad and does not do them justice. Look at the top of the picture.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Many are reporting larger then normal numbers this year. Severel reports of morning dove having three hatches instead of the normal 1 maybe 2. The number of white wing in DFW area has also significantly increased from years past. Amazing what strong spring rains can do. Hope they hang around.....

I have larger numbers as well this year. I don't know if it will help because I usually have a pretty good residient population but they blow out right around opening day seems like. I never get good numbers of migrating birds. This year I have 6 pair of Inca dove on my place. Kinda cool to watch them day to day.

i was in deep south texas the other weekend and already saw decent numbers of whitewing and mourning dove down there. The dove hunting is usually excellent down there if you wait long enough for the birds to get there, but the early whitewing zone days may be ok coming up too this year.
