Have hunted near de Leon. Decent bucks with fairly good numbers. Get a hold boar collector here on the forum. He has a place up there

Buddy has 1000 acre ranch near Commanche...Some really nice massy bucks, difficulty of hunting hinges on acorn crops, lots of oaks in the county. Quite a bit of hunting pressure but I have seen some really nice bucks come off his place over the last few years.

We had a place south of Comanche but lost it this year. Lots of deer but not many hit 100 lb range. Lots of small deer.

I had a lease by Sipe Springs last year. Lots of shooting all around there, owners grandkids around...deer went nocturnal after the rut.

Anybody have some trail cam pics of some deer? Just curious to see the normal size of a mature buck.

We hunt NW of Rising Star. A few nice bucks, a nice 9 pt. & 8 pt. taken last year. Lots of pigs now

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

We have only small 2 1/2 year old stuff. And 3 bucks that are older but not 13". Is it the property or the area just producing small bucks or do y'all think they are just not roaming much due to natural vegetation?

We hunt in between Rising Star and Carbon on only 77 acres. Got these two last year. Both came out of a oat/pea food plot. Once the acorns starting dropping nothing came to the corn feeders.

We hunt NW of Rising Star in Eastland Co. A few decent bucks and many small ones but decent deer population. Tons of hogs in the last 2 years.

Those are some nice looking bucks. Looks like I will be hunting in Gustine this year. My friend just had an offer accepted for some land. Going to miss opening weekend while he waits for closing. Looks like Thanksgiving weekend may be the first opportunity to hunt this year. Hope the rut is on then.

We have taken out two 'hit listers' off our place near R-Star already this year:

We are 30 south of Rising Star towards Zephyr. Had some good deer over the years but a big time oilman, Frosty Gillam, has bought 8 miles of ranches to the east of us and has high fenced the entire area. He grabbed the last eastern gap this summer, so we are now completely cut off from the eastern migration.

However, last year wasn't too bad for us, but the number of big bucks did go down. I got this guy last week of the season.....
