I've watched this hog grown (on cam) since he was a little piglet

he's only 2.5 yrs old but weighed in at 210 lbs

head shot with a 30-06 by a first time hunter/hog hunter from California

I gave him a short intro on how to use ATN XSight Gen I Night Vision just a day before

Surprisingly, he did not have any musky smell and his fat was thick and clear,,, almost sweet smelling

His friend dropped a 150 lb boar last night, also a first time hunter/hog hunter.
He was using an AK-74, put the bullet right behind the head where it
blew the heart in half on it's way down

it was a hell of a weekend for those new hunters.

I shot at a tight pack of the 30 (50 -60 lb) @ 150 yds but missed, turn out
my ATN Thermal was 5 inches off. Likely caused when I bumped it hard last
week against a camper as I was trying to hurry to help another friend
drag his hog back. Lesson learned will check zero more often after bumpity rides

I took the tenderloins from both to try.

heading back next weekend to see if we can get the spotted monster

Nice looking hog, I would of took the hams on the larger one along with the back strap.

both hogs, the whole thing was eaten: ribs, hams, shoulders, livers, hearts.... except the head

they gave me the tenderloins since they shot them on my place
and I was guide, mentor, and teacher of skinning & meat processor smile

They both have kids and extended family so I told them to keep the rest
just give me a taste of the tenderloins (tender, tasty as always )

anybody who said boars over 150 lbs don't taste good haven't shot
enough hogs . I tell my guests to smell the fat then decide.
