2) a 12g or 20g
3) a .223 AR-15
4) a .308 semi or Bolt, or a 30-06 bolt
5) a 22LR pistol bolt or semi

Have multiples of all so I think I'm good to go.

I'm not an AR guy, so swap in milsurp rifles for No. 4 and I'm in. I go old school -- Springfield 1903, Mauser 98, Mosin Nagant, Steyr Mannlicher, etc.

First let me say that because of my experience in my youth I didn't own an AR15 rifle until just a few years ago. Felt that they were a rifle designed for what we did with them and had no need to use them for hunting.

Then I hunted a place thick with pigs and coyotes. Bought one, killed a bunch of both of them with it. Several multi kill opportunities seized because of the weapon in hand. I even own one in the platform that shoots the .30RAR caliber and it's a deer killing, pig popping, light recoiling, fun gun.

Now, with the foreign and domestic terror threats becoming very real, the black gun is something a man may need to defend himself, his family, his neighborhood and his nation.

And I know for a fact that platform is very capable all of the above.

And it's dang fun to shoot.

If a person has no desire for one, that's their choice. But you don't know what future needs may bring. I can promise you this. The America you live in a few years from now won't be the same one you are in now. Whether it will be better, or worse - I don't know. I can almost certainly promise you that one day "AR"'s may not be legal to buy - if we are really unlucky even legal to possess. If Hillary wins, this day will come sooner than you know. If you have "no need or no desire" for such guns, this may mean nothing to you - yet. If you have a need and desire for freedom - it may mean everything for you and yours one day. By the time you find you may need one under those circumstances, it will be too late.

I could never limit myself to only 5 Hell, I have a "few" modern sporting rifles, military style rifles or whatever you want to call them. I won't list them here. If you are lucky and you don't have one maybe someone like me will be around to help a buddy out.

Thanks for your concern but despite it's appeal to some the AR platform is not the most
practical or effective weapon for everyone.

The best advise I can give is choose your firearms, choose your calibers, and stock up on reloading components. If a corrupt government can't regulate the firearms already on the market, they will try to eliminate the ammunition. My family is actually cutting down on the rounds we blow through on the range and just making every shot count.
