Hi folks, I upgraded from the old RCBS Partner scale of 15 odd years to a FX 120 and just got the Chargemaster 1500 to speed up my charges. I am setting the charge a grain under from the Chargemaster, to the FX120 for trickling to the accurate measurement and dumping into cases. The 1500 kind of keeps up with me by the time I am dumping charges into cases. There is a reprogramming that you set into the 1500 to trickle faster. Is there any pro and cons doing that? I hear that you cannot go back to default once you reprogram. Anyone have any feedback on this? And for those who programmed, how do you like it? Thanks

Riverrider had a thread of Chargemaster hack a few months ago. I experimented, and found where it worked best, it does produce finished loads faster now. You can reset back to factory settings as you please. The insert Kmon1 added will also be a huge help in preventing overthrows.

I know this has been covered before, but I wanted to pass on some settings to enter into your chargemaster that make it fly, and still provide accurate throws. You can go to this website to see how to get into the programming. Once in the programming mode, on the 4th setting:
(MSP_A2 39.20), change that to 20 (MSP_B2 8.55), change that to 6 (MSP_C2 2.25), change that to 1.75
If you go much lower on the settings, you get a lot of over throws. If you find this is too fast, then increase the 6 and 1.75 setting slightly. These settings are for charges in the 308 Win charge weight range. This made my chargemaster much faster. I still finish the final weight on an Acculab VIC-123 for precise charge amounts to .02 grains, though. Hope this helps!

Chad,
You mentioned in the earlier post that H4350 and Varget meter in a way that causes them to overthrow more...is the instructions above designed for these two powders or do you have settings better suited for them?
Thanks,
