When i did my paperwork online it asked how long the firearm was and what caliber..
Does this mean I can not change stocks or caliber on this stamp? Or will I have to notify atf?

No, they need specifics as to what the "intention" is for the rifle but as long as you have a multi caliber lower that is not marked "Pistol" then you can change the configuration however you like.

You have to keep the original combination also from what I understand. If you say 20 inch .223, dont get rid of the .223 down the road. If that makes sense.

Original pwork says 8.2 in barrel 300 blk out..

I wanted to add a 10.5 in 223 barrel to my setup or a 6.8 barrel

That should be fine. Just dont throw away the .300 blackout upper. Need to be able to convert to original form.

And sounds like you did the right thing by putting a caliber on the form. "Multi" gets sent back frequently.

FYI, If SBR is equipped with collapsible stock I believe overall length is with stock fully extended.

Just from ATF.gov:

Quote:
ATF recommends written notification to the NFA Branch when a firearm’s configuration is permanently changed or removed from the purview of the NFA.

does not require notice much less retention of the original submission or configuration.

Not trying to argue, just wanted to help be as clear as possible...
