In a 18.5" 1 in 9.125" twist barrel. Stable or no? Will be handloading, specifically Sierra 100 grain ProHunter (I have a supply).

Also, if you handload, what powders do you prefer?

Will be using on everything from raccoons to deer and hogs.

Shows to work.

H-4350 has been a go-to powder for .243 for a long time. There may be other good options to add to the list of possible powders.

Here's the other one. It also shows your twist rate to be fine. Scroll down.

My 24" 9.25 twist Savage Predator grouped 105 Amax at Max load of H4350 1/2" at 100. I think the Prohunter will stabilize even better. Haven't got to shoot it further than that yet and as of yesterday it is now a 20" threaded barrel so hopefully results will be the same.

At 100yds I group right at moa with 40gr of IMR4350 and 100gr interlocks in the kids CVA compact hunter 243. 20" barrel, believe it is 1/10 twist.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

Either of the 4350s is usually a high percentage starting place. I have one 243 that loves IMR4350 with 100 grainers. Another 243 much prefers 4320. You never know til you try.
