So I know this is a hunting site but its July so what the heck. Ive been blessed to go on some fun trips in the past few weeks. Started off in Alaska in mid June and had a BLAST. Caught a beautiful King Salmon and the went Halibut fishing with my wife. We caught 35 halibut and all but 3 were 35 lb plus. Caught some cool looking rock fish as well. Also got to see whales, orcas, seals and sea lions. If you ever get the chance to do this I highly reccomend it. One of the most amazing experiences Ive ever had.
This past Wednesday we hit the surf and tore up some specs. My wife caught her first ever limit and all on lures. She was having a ball hammering the trout. We went in Matagorda.
Yesterday, I went offshore for the first time ever. We caught our limit of snapper, 3 kingfish, and 3 ling. It was awesome and I was able to keep from puking despite some pretty rough seas. Now I gotta get back to work!

That is an anglers tri-feta if there ever was one. I've been fortunate enough to have done it a couple times in my life and hope to do it again next year. Can you pm me the details of your Aklaska leg. I've been to Waterfall a couple times and to Pelican once. I was looking at the Sitka area for this trip but that's not set in stone.

That's the biggest Goldfish I've ever seen!

A real hunter never returns empty handed. Spending time in the wilderness temporarily satifies the soul, but leaves us longing for more.

Wife and I are thinking about a trip to Alaska next year, will be our first time. Wanting to do some sightseeing and fishing. Don't know where to begin, we're not really cruise ship people. Any advise would be appreciated.

As far as sight seeing I dont have much advice other than to go Halibut fishing. We saw more awesome sights (glaciers, whales, seals) on the fishjng trip than the rest of the time we were there. Theres lits of neat little towns along the southern coast where we were (Sodotana, Seward, Homer). Saw tons of moose on the roads as well. Didnt see any bears tho
