Decided to mix things up a little today. Went and sat in a ladder stand overlooking a feeder and took the 12 gauge with me loaded up with 3" 00 buck. Didn't see anything but 2 armadillos, a turkey and a rat. Started back to the 4 wheeler at dark, and it looked like one of the old shooting gallery games. A whole passel of hogs tearing across the wheat field. I turned loose and saw one fold up. Had the dad gum plug still in from dove season so I got off three shots, then loaded one more and let it fly. When I went over there on the 4 wheeler found the smaller one. I'm going back tomorrow and step it off. It was a long shot.
