I like it, been thinking of doing a .270 build with a 1-9 twist, but, have the above mentioned cals that Fireman spoke of

.270 is every bit as good as 90% of the "long Range" cartridges when paired with the right components, excluding the super long range cal's RE; 338LM

the poor .270 is just not sexy enough cool2

I thought the 270wsm was going to make a splash in the long range world but the 6.5 creedmore did instead and the 260 Rem is hard to beat which was already entrenched.

As has been said, the 25 and 277's fates seem already decided. I tried to see what sales compared for the 270 AI vs 6.5-06 AI but cannot find good numbers. I think that is really a question only gunsmiths could answer for conversions they"ve done.

Yet try as it might the 270 Will always be behind the 7mm.

I was just thinking that the 7mm is beter when using the same case with same or similar weight bullets. But I'll agree with your statement too. Lol

Where I work we still sell a lot of .270's. I bought a 700 ADL .270 in 1972 with calf money. I was 13. It was what I hunted with most of the time until 2010 when I started using a 6.5x55.

For hunting the .270 is great. If I were to start punching paper I would not be using a .270.

Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
