Gen II razor is going to be hard to beat. If any places still have a Khales gen 2 they were in that price and a gen 3 could be had used in that area.

Think vortex amg could be worth a look
At that price point may want to go to ttha and try to hold a few of them

Razor Gen2 weighs almost 4lbs. Vortex amg looks promising but none are available. I know 2 people that ordered the amg at shot show and are still waiting.

Amg is just now about to get released to the public. Only a few are in hands to people in the know. The gen 2 is a pig no doubt but it's a proven one. Hell one was on a rifle last year that was ran over by a brush job and it still held zero.

The Vortex Amg is a very nice scope with high reviews especially from people that are paid reviewers so be careful of all the hype........

Are there any optics dealers in the metroplex that handle several brands of higher end scopes? Id like to put my hands and eyes on 5x25 schmidt, 6x24 kahles, nightforce, ect. It's tough spending that kinda money on a scope without actually handling it.

I have had the Votex gen 2 and the Nightforce ATACR. Still have the ATACR. They are both good scopes but I liked the turrets better on the NF. Illumination is better on the gen 2. Just my 2 cents

You can pick up a used Kahles in that range. I have two of them and really like them. I really want to get my hands on a gen 3 to try it out.

I have the S&B PMII 3-20 x50. Locking turrets, illuminated reticle. It's swwwweeeettttt! Built like a tank. A little more than $2,500 though. A used Night force would be my 2nd recommendation and with that price range.

The ScopeSmith in Houston had a pretty good selection of S&B and NF optics and maybe some other brands. I haven't been there in a few years but they did have a pretty good selection iirc.

X2 but up your budget a few hundred bucks, unless you can find a used one.

You can find a new Razor Gen 2 for $2k if you're patient enough like I did. Next choice would be a used Premier 5-25 even though it doesn't have locking turrets. Then a Nightforce, then Kahles

Since the Bushnells are now in the same stratosphere as the Nightforce ATACR, no I can see reason not to get the Nightforce. If the top Bushnell were $700 less then it's another story, they used to be a good deal.

What bushnell are you speaking of I thought the Exrs H59 and it's 4.5-30 FFP sister scopes used to be a good value when they came out. They are looking like $2100 to $2300 now. With the NF just a few hundred more, the Bushnell is less compelling.
