I'm ready to kill another mule deer.

No out of state trips this year so I'll be ready when season rolls around instead of being burned out

Can't believe how much I'm thinking about that broke-down ranch.

I borrowed my neighbors thermal scoped AR-10. Been shooting the pigs that show up at the house feeder.

It's pretty fun. But it's gonna end up costing me...

I need to stretch it out a little more hopefully shooting a bow in October. Had rotator cuff surgery little over a month ago.

I never did go WT hunting for long periods like that. Just went to my grandparents land to hunt when I was growing up and it was mostly a short morning. Lease hunts and such were not something we did while I was growing up. I have just fond memories of hunting occasionally with my dad or my younger brother.

I wish that I could say the same. Last year was so awful it's hard for me to think that this year will be any better. I hope I'm wrong.

I am ready myself. Just want to get these hot temps out of the way. I sure hope it cools off faster and better than it did last year.

If you don't think to yourself on opening day "I coulda worn shorts today," you ain't huntin' in Texas.
