I had a visitor on the back porch this evening. I'm thinking it's a walking stick but the one's I've seen in the past are much thinner. Any guesses? I put the only thing I had in my pocket up next to him for some scale. Sorry for the cell phone pics!

Some of those suckers will spit a stream of stuff at your eyes. I had one spit in my eyes as a kid, eyes were burning, red and vision blurry for about a day even after washing out.

That there's a Louisiana walking stick. You're gonna need a Louisiana entomologist to get it specific. I don't have those over here.

What caliber is that? Long bullet like a 7X57, but the case looks a little too short for that.

It's a 6.5 Creedmoor, 143 grain projectile
