Wish l could say this post was about Catfish or even Hogs but....nope! This is actually 4 out 5 that I killed that weekend. Never seen em this bad before. Anybody else having the same problem this year

I'm worried enough about the dogs getting hit by a Water Moccasin, with the creek right behind my back fence flowing longer than it ever has since we moved here, and you gotta post this?

It has more to do with the mild winter we had. Freezing weather kills a percentage of reptiles and amphibians every year. The percentage was very low last year. I've already seen more snakes, frogs and toads than I can remember.

it gets pretty darn cold up in north central OK, and they have one of the best rattle snake round ups going.

Imagine how many rattlesnakes there would be if it didn't get pretty darn cold in North Central Oklahoma.

They are for sure moving alot. Woke up last night at 1:30 to my Lab making an absolute concert. Went out in the skivvies and barefoot and there was a 2 foot copperhead about 6 inches from him. Ran to pull on my boots and grab a shovel and that bad boy had already moved 30 yards in less than a minute. My stab with the shovel missed and i lost him in the dark. would have used my snake shot but I am inside city limits.

Nice. Haven't been since May and got 3 in one night in a 10 sq ft area right where I sleep. Got another the next weekend hiding next to a tree at the grill. Would have had more but using a spade shovel. Hopefully some were the same I missed a few minutes earlier. Were you looking for them or they wondered on you? Going out this week so hopefully don't see any. I have never seen them in 10 years until this year.

Had a rat snake waiting for me on the step of the cabin at the ranch last night? It was dark and I initially thought it was a copperhead. I've seen more varieties this year than the past 5 combined. At our place, before this year, if you saw a snake it would most likely be a rattler. This year coach whips, ribbons, rat snakes, Kings, etc are making themselves visible.
