Wife's Taurus is acting up, having issues with case extraction and slide gets jammed every now and then. Has anyone warrantied through them? If it is a huge pain I would rather just buy her a new pistol. Thanks!

If it's within the first year since manufacture is is pretty much a painless process but depending on the model it can take awhile. Outside of the first year, FedEx shipping to Taurus is on you which can make it rather costly. I had a trigger fail on a $200 pistol and it cost me $62 to send it to them. I won't do that again. The period is since manufacture, not ownership. Been around with them on this and sold a Rossi Single Shot that I had just taken out of the box rather than pay shipping back. I have bought eleven new Taurus pistols and have had a total of 5 warranty claims, that's a statement in itself. Finally, if your pistol is a recall pistol and you send it in you will not receive anything back until the settlement is complete. There are owners that have gone 18 months without a pistol because they decided to send it in. Here is a link to help you determine if you have a pistol involved in the class action settlement: PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT...f these models)

I had a .380 I sent back once because it wouldn't fire. It's been several years. Don't remember the details really. I remind had to take it to a FedEx location. Don't remember of I paid shipping it or not. They fixed it and returned it to me. I shot what ammo I had left at the range then traded. That was the last Taurus I had. No plans to buy another.

I've used Taurus warranty 3 times. The first time we sent in 2 guns (PT145 and 357 Revolver), and the PT145 came back with the same issue we sent it in for. The revolver was fixed. One the second trip, the PT145 pistol came back better, but it was still having a few issues when shooting, just not as many as before.
I've never been impressed with Taurus firearms. When you need a pistol, you NEED a pistol. Taurus's are too cheap for me to rely on them. I'll be glad to spend a few extra dollars to get something the really works and can be relied on.

Years ago I had a 145 that I sent back 2 times, same issue each time so I my dealer gave me a refund. The turnaround was fast, but it wasn't fixed. Bought a Rossi youth rifle new in the box, fired one shot and it locked up. Never paid shipping on either of these. Broke an adjustable rear sight on a 44 pistol, called them and they sent me new one, free, no questions asked.
Never any issues with their revolver's. Currently have 3, and a TCP 380 that I carry all the time and have shot a bunch. No issues with it.

I have a Taurus 24/7 that the front sight fell off of. Sent it back in on Taurus's dime and it was fixed within a couple weeks. Can't remember if it was in the first year or not. Never had an issue since. Never had an issue with my other Taurus pistol or my Taurus revolver. I'll continue to buy Taurus rather than over-paying for the stamp on other brands.

I returned a .38 revolver with zero issues/problems and they were very timely in returning the pistol. My gun was at least 10 years old and I didn't have the receipt.

I have several Taurus handguns, and the only problem I have had is with a 38 Special revolver. After firing about 25 rounds, the cylinder tries to hang due to residue buildup between the cylinder and the barrel. A little cleaning and it's good as new.

Why did you return it if it had no issues? I wasn't very clear. The pistol did have issues, but I had no problems with the warranty process.
