I have a place about 30 miles SW of Ozona ... not sure if these would be similar. How big of a place?
PM Sneaky ... he had a lease in that general area up thru last season (maybe his old spot?).

I hunted due south of sonora many years ago. There were good deer there. A lot has changed in the area but I believe most is for the better from what I have heard. As long as the place has been managed well you should have a fun time.

similar comment on the place 30+ miles SW from Ozona. It had been over hunted (lots of 2-4 y/o bucks taken, no culls and no does) and poorly managed for a long time before my friend inherited it about 5-6 years ago. We did a couple night time counts with the biologist and came up with a plan. Only took fully mature culls the first couple of years, then culls or 7+ year olds (few) which were mostly culls. The population and quality has started turning around but still has a ways to go over time. There are some decent genetics to build off of from what I see. I am down Pandale road, and I suspect you are down 163?

I wouldn't pay more than 6-7.00 a acre in that area but...some are getting 7-12.00 with water and electric..

Caveat emptor. Check the place out thoroughly and trust your gut. Lots of shysters in the area.
