Back in December of 2013, I shot a beaver. I started the thread below about it.

Anyhow, I took it to my taxidermist that I had used for years. His name is Danny Lee and works out of his house off of Lake Benbrook.

Well, I gave him about a year before calling him and when I finally did call him, he said the tanneries up north were backed up. He proceeded to give me this line of bull@#$% for another year and a half.

About 3 months ago I called him again. He screens all of his calls, has no answering machine, and rarely answers the phone. Basically tries to avoid anybody he may have a responsibility to finish some work for. He actually answered this time.

He told me he had good news for me. He had my beaver back, but there was some bad news as well. He said the tail didn't turn out well. I told him that was funny because I had the tail to my beaver in my deep freeze from 2.5 years ago when he cut it off in front of me since they didn't tan well.

Then he started changing the conversation, told me he would get it figured out, and would have my beaver back soon.

Well, I still haven't heard from this squirrel. He won't answer the phone, and I'm so damn mad if I go by there and he doesn't have it, I just don't need to see him face to face.

All I want is the pelt back. I don't care if he did anything or not. Just want it back. But it either got screwed up, lost, or he sold it, but he won't admit to any of it. Not the first time he has done something like this either I'm sure.

I had used this guy for years and he has always done good work, just a little squirrely and avoids people.

Well, if I have any advice for you, don't ever use Danny Lee in Benbrook for anything. And if you see this Danny and will be a man and call me and give me a logical explanation, I may decide to take this down.

Another problem with the same guy

If you have zero communication skills, you shouldn't be in business for yourself. Making up stories isn't a business communication skill. I know how this can drive you insane. Hope you finally get your pelt.

It wasn't my post bud so I don't have any additional info - I just remembered seeing something on him awhile back - maybe you can PM the OP of that thread for additional info. Hope everything works out for you, sir.

The tail story is BS. You use artificial tails for life size beaver mounts

He is a lying little [censored]. I have tried calling him for 3 days in a row now. Won't answer. And he told me the tails didn't tan when I dropped it off. Little liar got caught in his own web.

He finally answered. He has it ready. I can't believe it.

Don't, until you're in possession of it. Post a picture when it's finally home.

I have always used him with no problem. He might take longer, but he always does great work.

If he is a stand up guy he should not charge you anything after all of the aggrevation he caused.

Update. A buddy just went by said Taxidermist office and my supposed beaver pelt is on the wall. Taxidermist said someone from Aledo shot it, and never showed to pay for it, but never gave my name. Buddy knew it was my suppposed beaver and called to tell me.

I showed my buddy a pic of the actual beaver I shot and he said the one hanging on the wall isn't half as big. So now I know it was never my actual beaver he had.

Well, you didn't get the beaver, but at least you got a little tail out of it...
