Bull snake that is. This ones been hanging around my brothers place for a few years and gets bigger every season. He's tolerant enough that my SIL can pick him up without getting bit. She's about 5' 7" so I'm guessing this snake is pushing 7 feet.

They hurt when they bite you. At least it did when I was 7 years old. That was the last time I was foolish enough to play with a snake.

But...I believe the 'record' Bull Snake (in Texas) is right around 9 feet in length. Except for the Texas Indigo (confined to South Texas), the Bull Snake is Texas' largest non-venomous snake. The one pictured by the OP is a beautiful specimen.
