the hog traps made out of 4 cow panels works great. Make a circle with one panel that overlaps. The panel acts like a natural spring. Tie it open to get them used to pushing their way in. Then bait and remove the tie. they push their way in and the panel snaps back keeping them from going out. Can catch a bunch in one session,

Use the 60" tall utility panels that have 4x4 6 Guage wire, keeps the smaller pigs in.

Easy except for pounding the tpost. Need the 4 feet apart

Depends on your type of soil,4 feet for sandy soil, 6 feet for clay. Wire the panels to the inside of the T-post, bottom middle and 4 feet off ground, leave the top 12" free, so when a hog try's to climb out the panel bends over and the hog drops back in the trap. You can prop the entrance open with a short 6" stick,it will drop out of the way when a big pig goes in.

I had a made one in a similar fashion, trying to find pics of it. Very simple but effective design. T-post, panels, wire to secure panels to post, and a trip wire is all mine was made out of. Trap essentially looks like a #9 before it is sprung.

I built a trap similar to this one and have had good luck with it.
The most I have caught at one time is 5.

How do they work with cows on the place? Do the cows cause a problem?

Our experience is that any trap we've made that's a "push-in" type will eventually be breeched by the cows. As we move the cattle from pasture to pasture, we wire the push-in's shut if there are any in the grazing area.

what makes it even better, put a sow in the middle, inside a enclose, shade and water, works

Yes this sure helps, just be sure to add a scrape dripper filled with sow in heat scent.

Hell it is hard enough to hit them in a smaller trap. I always try and headshot the ones we are going to eat and if you aren't using a suppressor after the first shot lets just say the atmosphere in the trap gets rather "spirited". I really need to video it the next time 9 or so of them are in there.
