My boy turned 8 a few weeks ago. Wife has him signed up for camp longhorn for 3weeks. 3weeks is a lot of time. I guess I just grew up differently. Anyway he leaves tomorrow so we spent the day on the blanco river doing what we should all summer.

We caught large and small mouth bass catfish, perch and shot a boar. My son was so pumped. I don't think camp longhorn will touch this great day.

Epic memories

My boys like to play video games, most boys do at 9 and 12. But they have to ask before they can play, and more often than not I will tell them, no, go outside and play. To which they both happily say, ok and take off down to the creek or the trampoline. They have built a fort out in the front pasture that they love to play in. Kids being kids, love it! Good job on your great day.

only time I wan't out side was at bed time or when it was raining, even then I was usually getting muddy

That's the way to raise your son....being with him and giving him the skills to enjoy his life for the rest of his life.
