Thinking about buying a custom model 700 from a friend in 7mm STW. Has a 140gr load that will shoot 1/2". Rifle has about 100 rds thru it. Thoughts on this caliber??? Thanks for the input!!

Biggest issue with the 7mmSTW is brass availability, I have used one on hogs, deer, pronghorn and elk very versatile round.

As Mentioned brass is scarce but if the deal was good enough I would take my chances. After playing a little with the 28 Nosler I am impressed with the big 7mm's. The 7STW is in that league.

The round has a cult following. It's truly impressive.

I had a 700 Sendero in the 7STW for awhile. It was a absolute tack driver! Only reason I sold it is because I was partial to my Sendero 300RUM. I would not hesitate to own another one.

Looks like barrel life is 600-1000 rds. It would probably be hard to shoot it out using it to hunt.
