Have seen good results and read several first hand with the 70gr Barnes TSX and the 60gr Noslar Partition. Might try the 65gr Sierra game King as well.

In addition to the above, may consider the 75gr Swift Scirocco

I have had good results with the 65 Sierra Game King. Works well on pigs and deer and affordable to boot.

We have taken several deer with the 65 grain Sierra Game King. It does ok. You won't get a pass through. Shot placement is key on this bullet. But, it has worked.
The Swift Scirroco bullets would be a good choice, if they will fit in your magazine. The 75 grain will have a long jump in an AR mag, and may not shoot as well. The 62 grain would be a good choice.
I'm not a big fan of Barnes bullets, but they would be a good choice for a 223, if you want the deep penetration.
I plan to go to the 64 grain Nosler bonded bullet this coming hunting season. I want a bullet that will hold together a little better than a standard lead bullet.

Like many others have stated, the 65 grain Sierra GK has been a sterling performer for me on deer, hogs, javelina, and a mixed bag of varmints/vermin/predators.

I just bought some 77gr sierra matchking hollow points in 556 from Midway since they were on sale.
I can only assume this should be an excellent hunting bullet for my AR. Has anyone had any problems that Chad mentioned with these?

He mentioned Game Kings. I'm not sold on using Match Kings for hunting, at least not in smaller calibers and vitals shots. I've had erratic results. I don't have any experience with Game Kings.

For a small caliber, i would not use Matchkings for hunting. GameKings is a better bullet for hunting.

my AR-15 with Shilen 1-7 20" barrel loves 69gr Sierra match king. I can easy reach to 5" plate @500 yards... well if I can read wind right. And dropped 200lb pig with two shots - first knock him down but he still kicking, and second was just to finish the job. ( LC brass, CCI41 primers, Win 748 25.2Gr, AOL 2.22" it may be too hot for your gun so start from 23Gr or so)

The Hornady 75 grain BTHP will work in your magazines, shoots great in 1-7 twist guns and kills as good as anything. I have used it on feral hogs where bone was hit and still got plenty of penetration to kill the hog. On coyotes it leaves a 1 inch exit hole, on pigs if it does exit it is usually in a form of fragments. It exits deer every time on broadside ribcage hits and ends up in fragments under the hide and in the far side ribs if a shoulder bone is hit. It does kill well but it isn't a controlled expansion bullet. I shoot 24.5 grains of Blc-2 with a magnum primer under this bullet.
