Going to be a truck gun/deer stand gun.
Looking at
Either a red dot aim point t1 or a 1x6 style scope like a swfa or sig or vortex razor.. need all opinions let me know if there's better options... and will I really need ffp for a short distance gun?

Do yourself a favor and check out the Trijicon MRO. I bought mine thru larue.com best red dot I've ever used hands down.

I'd go 1-6 scope if its going to be mostly for hunting. SWFA makes a great one. I like it better than the vortex.

Vortex Viper PST 1-4. For a short range rifle there's really no need to spend 1k plus. I shoot hogs regularly between 1-200 yards with it. Also have the 1-6 Razor HD. Great optic but not necessary for short range work.

I would strongly recommend a 1-4 or 1-6. They can be used just as fast as a red dot when set to 1x, and are much easier to use at distance. I've had great luck with the Burris MTAC, Millet DMS, and Bushnell Trophy 1-4. The Bushnell could be had for about $150 not too long ago. I'm not sure how much they are now.

I needed "the" scope for the 16" carbine .233, and figured the SS 1-6X was it. While there are other options out there, that are good, I'm sure, I was right. The SS 1-6X is "the" scope for my purposes, on that rifle.

On 1X I have a ring as a fast target acquisition, and can see the muzzle. On 6X I ran it down the range to 400 yards.

You can save a buck by staying with the 1-4X for the SBR.

With a sbr is it worth getting ffp or just go sfp?

IMO, with a 1-4/6x, there isn't much reason in FFP. If I'm shooting past 200 yards, my scope is going to be on its highest magnification. If it's set on 1x, the reticle is tiny on a FFP and can be hard to see.

For me, yes. Look at the photos of the reticle in the SS. On 1X you have a ring, with the "cross" in the center, very much like the hologram in an EOTECH. That makes for two eye open, fast target acquisition. Then when I want to shoot distance I can turn it up. The whole reticle grows to the point the ring goes away, and then you have the familiar Mil quad reticle. So one optic works for me point blank, to a quarter mile.
