Bought stripped lower and a complete build kit yesterday. Everything is Anderson.

Cant wait to get this in my hands and start building it. This will be my 1st ar ever and obviously my 1st build. Im sure it is about to be a new hobby.

Any tips from the pros here?

No pro, but I've been down this road. Hopefully you have a vise with the vise blocks.

And a set of punches. The starter punches are nice to have to prevent from buggering up the end of pin till you get it close to all the way in.Plus they help get the pins started. Also put some painters tape around the area of the pin your putting in. Prevents marks/scratches. Pros don't mess things up generally. But I did even being careful.

Take your time, and make sure you have the right tools. It's not hard at all.

The best $9 I ever spent was on a pivot pin tool. Makes the job 100x easier. I use a 1 gallon zip lock when installing the pivot pin with or without the tool, it keeps things from flying across the room.

A set of roll pin starter punches isn't a must but a very helpful addition.

Brace the trigger guard lips if you have to install the trigger guard.

Lots of masking tape.

For the lower you will need blue masking tape (to prevent any scratches while installing roll pins), a punch set (roll pin punch set makes it MUCH easier), a brass hammer (doesn't mar the lower), a small regular hammer for the punches, a block of wood to support the lower, a long allen wrench for the screw that holds the grip, and a wrench for the castle nut on the buffer tube. You can get the cheaper wrench for $5 on Amazon if you are just building the lower. You'll want an armorer's wrench if you are building the upper too. I like to use a razor blade to hold the detent in place while I install the takedown pins. Oh, and I install the detents while holding the lower in a box. Those things disappear in a hurry. The zip lock bag is a good one too.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Get you a set of roll pin starter punch set like this one on Amazon, makes the job easier when installing rolls pins on the lower receiver

https://www.amazon.com/Squirrel-Daddy-Ho...=Squirrel+daddy

I just use a 1/4" diameter x 2" long clevis pin to capture detent spring and detent for pivot and takedown pins. Few dollars from lowes or Home Depot. Run clevis through lower receiver holes and use hole in clevis to insert spring and detent with a small punch. Turn clevis 1/4 turn and detent/spring will be captured. Push take down or pivot pin in while pulling out clevis. Makes install easy.

As already mentioned use painters tape/masking tape on lower to prevent scratches/nicks while installing pins.
Good luck with the build it does get addicting for some lol.

If you can get a pair of knipex pliers it comes in handy when installing roll pins. Put some electrical tape on jaws to prevent scratching lower receiver. no need to hammer pins in just squeeze into place with pliers. Reduce the risk of damaging roll pin and/or lower.

LOL!!! This can become your enemy!
Seriously though, take your time, plenty of youtube videos to walk you through step by step. And be careful with the spring loaded detents, those things can shoot across a garage easily.

^ I put my lower together but nothing but a pair of knipex channel locks and a leatherman multi tool.
