Do any of y'all do mock scrapes and scents during off season? I was watching a hunting show and the guy recommended doing scrapes and putting scent in the dirt and on trees during offseason. He states it will increase the amount of deer at your spots.

Thoughts?

I may start in August, but not year round. A few scrapes seem to stay fairly active year round by themselves. Couldn't say whether it would help or not to do year round

Sounds like that guy may have financial interests in scents.....

I don't know that year round would make any difference. Can't imagine the synthetic scents would help at all, and the natural stuff I would think would go bad after some period of time. I am not not what I would call a smart man, God didn't bless me with good looks or intelligence....so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I was thinking of taking it with a grain of salt. I may try it one day. Just wondering if anyone does this.

Sounds a little goofy to me. Bucks are all running together now. They could give a rats rear end about females.

The guy on that show is undoubtedly trying to pitch some product. As Mark said, after October. Before that, you're just out raking leaves in the pasture.
