About to set up my first couple of feeders.

I don't have the time and don't want to invest the money into feeding free choice for the first year.

Do y'all have any good suggestions as to a good protein supplement that I can use in a timed feeder? I'm even thinking about getting the All Seasons timed protein feeder. One big drawback with that is that food may accumulate in the tray until the deer get used to it. But I guess the same thing with a free choice tube?

It will be setup in the Wichita Falls area if that matters.

I'm with Titan, I recommend Lamco's timed protein feeders.

Lamco are great feeders. If you don't have that kind of coin, the new All Seasons is an economical option in a timed protein feeder. Both offer galvanized hoppers for long term rust resistance.

As to the actual pellet, lots of good choices. Just depends on what is available locally. I like Lyssey & Eckles myself, but Purina, Record Rack and others offer good blends too. Just check out the trace mineral packages. Not all proteins are created equal.

I picked up an ASF timed one and put some Record Rack in it. Test spin seemed good. Quite a bit of rain lately so will check on it in a few days to see how it held up.
