Well they can kiss my @$$, not that I would buy a gun from them anyway. Never been a big fan of box stores, I have a really good local gun shop that I deal with.

That's disappointing. When I bought mine, I looked at what they had, but found a much better deal at Atwoods.

Probably hiding them back in the stockroom. Keeping them under wraps for 5 months in hopes they can double the price come November.

I have always liked academy but they shouldnt have caved so soon on selling ar15s.just shows weakness on there part especially being a outdoor store. And u know there will be a mad scramble to get em like after the last shooting. When will people learn that people kill people. Not giving up my ar,s to anyone.

I recall how crazy things were after Sandy Hook, no telling what's to come now.

KKR, a New York investment firm, bought Academy a few years so it has not been a Texas-owned company for awhile.

I have heard you can still buy one. They just don't have them on display.

Selling so fast that they can't keep them on the shelf?

Im not interested in AR15, but I'd like to see a response they may give if you send corporate an email about it. They have responded before when I have inquired about other things.

Turns out the POS who killed our fellow Americans used a Sig Sauer. Going to get really confusing for the confiscation morons with so many different AUTOMATIC Oh I mean semi automatic weapons to remember.

The problem is if u let the gov libs take away the ar15s they wont let it go with that. they will want ALL semi autos, hand guns and rifles and shotguns.

I worked at Academy Waco in 2007 when Obama was about to be elected. The whole country went wild on AR's to the point that everyone was on allocation from the manufacturer, stores began limiting purchases to customers, and prices went up!

This is absolutely true.

Watch the threads on Democratic Underground. It is truly frightening to see the thinking of a significant portion of our citizens.

They have pulled them from the shelves in the past after shootings like this. Dicks has done it in the past and so has CTD. Its this type of action that sets off a chain reaction of other retailers doing the same thing sending buyers into a frenzy fearing that they wont ever be able to buy one again.

This being an election year I don't see the same type of frenzy happening this time around though. There will be plenty of talk about new legislation but there wont be any votes cast on any of it until after the new year. By then Americans will have forgotten all about it and there wont be the same push for new gun control like you see now.

That would be my guess as well. No need to attract unwanted attention or be accused of being disrespectful at this time. Let things calm down and families bury their dead and they'll be back.

Pretty sad to hear Bernie sanders on the tv this weekend talking about how we should not allow automatic weapons in the hands of normal citizens...

And then Hillary tweeted we need to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists.

Really? You think maybe there are laws in place for that already? Idiots!!

I better lock my guns up tonight, so one of them doesn't decide to go postal while I'm asleep.
