Everyone should own an open sight 30-30, an 870 in 20 ga and 12, a marlin model 60 or ruger 10/22, a Weatherby .257 mag (best gun in existence, it's a scientific fact!), a good wheel gun (.357 mag or better), a safe queen like a higher end over under, a good semi auto self defense pistol (glock, s&w, ruger, sig), a good AR, and I guess you can throw a 700 in the list for a bang around truck gun.

I agree. You can have 10 ARs that are all different calibers, sizes, weights, close quarters and long range heck you can even build a pistol AR only thing missing is the AR15 shotgun unless you count the M26

If I had to choose say 10

1. 870 can't beat a good pump
2. 10/22.
3. Bolt 223 or 22-250 for the small stuff
4. 30-30
5. Bolt 308
6. 1911
7. Ak if it ever hits the fan
8. Ar15 someone besides 223 probably 300bo or 6.8
9. Glock 17
10. Semi auto shotgun

Could go on what brand etc but that would probably be my list of i had to narrow down to 10 practical guns to own.

1. 12 gauge shotgun
2. .30 cal bolt action.
3. Semi-auto rifle in .223 or .308 or BOTH
3. 9mm pistol, choose what suites you; as most are capable of the task
4. .22lr rifle, again for whatever suits you
5. .357 revolver
6. .357 lever action
7. This would be a good place for the second semi-auto listed above
8. .45acp with the same suggestions as for the 9mm
9. .44 mag revolver
10. Crossbow

As to my personal favorites

1. Mossberg 590
2. Savage model 10
3. Daniel Defense DD4MV1
4. Ruger 10/22
5. Ruger GP100 or Security Six
6. Rossi M92
7. SCAR 17 or DPMS LR308 clone not made my DPMS
8. FN 45 tactical or competition
9. Ruger Redhawk
10. Whatever is the newest coolest and lightest

Excellent lists.. I'll add that if you've never shot 158gr 38spl LRN in a Marlin 1894, you're missing out...

At least one family heirloom rifle. Mine is my Dad's 22 S, L, LR
One old rifle that you have used forever 30-06 that is beat up but the one my son wants to get some day
One Sako 75 Hunter in 270 cause there is nothing sweeter to shoot.
On 300 of some kind just because
10/22 cause it is just fun
243 because they are all great IMO
Lever action 30-30 will never be without one
444 Marlin mouse to mastadon has been my go to the past few years
22 handgun of any style
38 special. Very under rated
Ruger NMBH 45 Colt. Can shoot pretty stout hunting loads
Uberti Hombre 45 Colt. Too fun. Naturally points for me.

And of course the hideouts....

Yep

Only comment I might have is to split out centerfire handgun into at least one revolver and one semi-auto. Other than that, I agree.

Here are my thoughts in order of importance with their "justification".

12 gauge pump - Self defense. Also backup water fowl or upland game.
30 caliber bolt gun - North American big game hunting in general.
.22 semi-auto - Small game hunting and target practice.
6.8spc AR-15 - Hogs and varmints.
30 caliber lever action - Big game hunting in close quarters.
12 gauge semi-auto - Upland game, waterfowl and sporting clays.
9mm Semi-auto pistol - Self defense and target practice.
12 gauge double barrel - Upland game and dove.
.243 caliber bolt action - Back up deer gun and longer range varmint hunting.
30 or 40 caliber revolver - In case the 9mm jams. And because everyone should own at least one wheel gun.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

M1 Garand
2x G19
2x AR one scoped one red dot type.
.22 mag pistol
.22 mag rifle
12 ga pump
.357 lever
.357 revolver

I guess I like to keep it simple with backup parts and ammo.
