I went out yesterday evening to hunt but got run off by the lighting and impending rain headed my way.
Given it's still light at 8:30pm, what do you guys do now? In the cool weather, there was always activity just before or just after sundown, 6:30'ish. Now not so much I'm sure with it getting hot.
- If you're hunting in a stand, what time do you climb in? - Do you wait until dark to go hand corn/walk in the arena or do it first thing when you get there? - If you are in a stand and things are slow, do you get out and walk?
I sure do miss the cold weather (only for hunting), it's a hot mother in the box blind after a walk-in with all the BS I seem to carry.

In summer I tend to hunt mornings more than evenings. I still go out in the evening hoping for luck, but it seems the mornings are usually more productive. Even without a night vision scope, the hogs are often (sometimes) out for a little while after sunup.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.

I killed a hog two weekends ago at 5pm at a feeder. When I get a chance to hunt I hunt as much as possible. I will get to the stand early and stay late. Animals are unpredictable even when we think we got them figured out.

Ive changed my feeder times at feeders I know have hog issues. I quit feeding in the morning and just feed in the evening around 9:30PM. keeps me from wandering what time to be there. Gives it time to cool off and I can just slip in. Granted I have NV.
But the absolute easiest thing is to have a cellular game camera and wait for a picture. Then go to the woods. A lot less wasted gas and time.

I set my timers to 9:00 PM and try to pattern the hogs as much as possible with my game cameras. During he summer I plan on hunting late into the evening and early AM hours. You may want to put a camera if you have a consistent water source and hunt that area.
