Well got a little bit negligent letting my dogs run and apparently my male chocolate lab has bred my English setter female. Both are fantastic hunting dogs each their own talent. Looks like we will be having a litter within a week she is already bagged up. I guess my question is does anybody think they'll be worth a darn ? The setter is a fantastic Upland dog. The lab is a great retrieving Very obedient dog. I'm sure this is happened before just wanted to see if anybody had any other then don't let them get together?

Seen some golden x setter cross's years back that were good field dogs...but then their owners were not field trial or horse back guys either. Might be worth looking the litter over to see what traits have passed. A trainer used to know looong time ago over around Gilmer used a lab to teach pointers how to hunt & retrieve "properly". Ron

You need to come up with a snappy name for the pups like the people who let their lab visit their poodle. They call them labradoodle and ask $1K for the puppies. You could call them setlabers. Just advertise they could be the first owners of a new breed. All joking aside, I would be interested to see how they work out.

They might work for some but not for me.

Labrasetters. Make sure you post pictures up. I bet they are good looking pups.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

A lab used to teach a pointer how to hunt...interesting.
Yeah post pics. My guess is you will have some good upland hunterw7, some good retrievers, and some with a little of both.

How about Settador. Please send me some pics of the lighter pups. I lost my lab this year, so starting to get around to looking for another dog. He was very versatile for a lab, as we hunted everything from Redheads in Rockport, Doves in Sealy, Mallars in Louisiana, to Quail in Vernon. I've wondered how a pointer/retriever may cross. Pics of both parents would be great.
