Nice work. Where did you get the Elephant hide?

Almost 30 years ago my Cousin bought a pair of Elephant hide boots for somewhere between $120 and $150. A few months later the US put a ban/tighter restrictions on importing the hides. The same boots, made from pre-ban hides, suddenly jumped to $350 (and the boot maker supposedly had a warehouse full of pre-ban hides).
Cuz still has the boots. says they are the toughest hide he has ever owned, but the most comfortable.

Great workmanship! If anyone likes it, but doesn't happen to have access to pre ban ivory, ivory linen micarta is a good substitute.
